The Chinese Voice Alliance (CVA) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization registered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. It is dedicated to building a platform for cross-cultural expression, exchange and cooperation for the global Chinese community, so that the world can hear the voice of the Chinese people.
CVA was co-founded by two Chinese-American immigrant women, Ms. Zhang Hong and Ms. Ren Yanling. It serves the global Chinese community by creating a multimedia platform, sharing the stories of the Chinese people, and making their voices heard worldwide. Simultaneously, it is committed to advocating for, educating, and connecting with mainstream social resources to protect and support the interests of immigrant women and children, and to promoting the development of the Asian community in a diverse society.
The mission of CVAServing the community and supporting women's entrepreneurship, we aim to make the stories of Chinese people around the world visible and understood through expression, education, and public services; and through advocacy and resource connections, we support immigrant women and children in gaining more equitable development opportunities.
CVA's main activities and directions:
1. Expression and Dissemination: Through publishing, film, art, and education, we aim to make Chinese people and Chinese culture resonate with the world in an authentic and warm way.
2. Community Service: Connecting the Chinese community with mainstream society, and carrying out public welfare activities such as cultural festivals, educational projects, and psychological care.
3. Safeguard the rights and interests of women and children: Support women in pursuing their ideals in all aspects of their careers and families, and promote mental health care for children and adolescents.
CVA's four core platforms:
1. World Voice Press: Publishes documentary literature, immigrant stories and cross-cultural works, building platforms and bridges for Chinese culture to go global.
2. World Voices Pittsburgh Quarterly: Serving the local Chinese and Asian communities, it tells the stories of Asian immigrants through text, photography, and illustration, showcasing Pittsburgh's urban revitalization and cultural reflections.
3. World Voices website: A comprehensive cultural platform that spreads the voices of Chinese people, shares their stories, and connects cultures, allowing the world to hear the voices of Chinese people.
4. Pittsburgh New Chinese Cultural City: A base integrating culture and industry, combining commerce, education, cultural and creative industries and art performances.
